Helping Hands Fund

The TUl Care Foundation’s Helping Hands Fund supports projects and activities by organisations that fit in with the foundation’s strategic focus and have a positive impact on communities or the environment in tourist destinations worldwide. In this way, the fund contributes to the sustainable development of communities and the protection of the environment and species in destination areas.

Non-profit organisations or social enterprises operating in tourist destinations and engaged in education, community empowerment, environmental protection and species conservation can submit their application using the form below. Organisations working in tourist destinations to provide emergency aid or reconstruction assistance in times of (natural) disasters are also invited to apply for a grant from this fund.

What is supported?

  • Initiatives that have a clear link to tourism and take place in international tourism regions in one of the eligible countries listed below
  • Activities in the areas of education, environmental and species protection, cultural preservation and/or community support
  • Measures that address the needs of communities in the event of emergencies, (natural) disasters and/or health crises

Exemplary activities

  • Environmental education in local schools
  • Mitigation of conflicts between humans and wildlife
  • Support for community-based tourism
  • Protecting cultural heritage and promoting local artisans
  • Responding to natural disasters such as forest fires or floods, e.g. by distributing emergency kits or providing access to clean water
  • Carrying out beach clean-ups or other litter collection campaigns
  • Child protection measures for vulnerable children/young people
  • Community health care measures in health crises, e.g. raising awareness of hygiene or training health workers
The initiative should be carried out in tourist regions in one of the following countries:

Maldives, Martinique, Mauritius, Mexico, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Rwanda, St. Lucia, St.

Martin, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Senegal, Seychelles, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Organizations receiving support from the Helping Hands Fund are expected to submit reports and provide communication materials (such as photos, videos, and testimonials) for communication purposes. These materials are intended to increase the visibility of the projects and their impact. Organizations will be asked to confirm this during the application process.
  • Non-profit organizations OR social enterprises with a clear tourism-related social impact mission
  • Organizations that are legally registered and operating in one of the listed countries
  • Organizations that have no religious/ideological affiliation and act free from discrimination based on ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability, religious belief, or sexual identity
  • Individuals are not eligible

Please note that applications must be submitted in English. We encourage non-English speakers to use free online tools to translate their proposal.

  • All applications will be evaluated by a selection committee of the TUI Care Foundation
  • The selection process will particularly take into account the quality of the application and its proximity to tourist destinations
  • Applications should be submitted exclusively via the online link below. Applications submitted by email or through other communication channels cannot be reviewed or answered
  • The amount of funding will be determined by the TUI Care Foundation and may be lower than the requested amount
