Following the catastrophic impact of Category 5 Hurricane Melissa, which struck Jamaica with sustained winds of up to 115mph, communities across the island are facing severe devastation. The true scale of destruction across Jamaica is now clear. As the storm tore through the island, it caused widespread destruction and significant disruption to essential services. Western towns like Black River and Montego Bay have been hit hardest, with homes and schools destroyed, families displaced, and vital infrastructure crippled.

The TUI Care Foundation has launched a fundraising appeal to support the communities affected by the hurricane. Together with its partners, it’s committed to providing long-term aid and social support to help communities rebuild and recover. 100% of every donation will go directly to projects in Jamaica, to support people affected by the hurricane. The TUI Care Foundation will match each donation – so for every pound or euro donated, the Foundation will contribute an additional pound or euro. Thank you for all your support.

The TUI Academy programme offers disadvantaged young people vocational training and new career opportunities in the tourism sector. Your donation helps to support the vocational training of participants, for example at the TUI Academy in the Dominican Republic. The amount is based on the average cost of training a student through our TUI Academies.

The TUI Junior Academy programme inspires children and young people to protect nature and wildlife and become eco champions in their communities. Your donation will help enable a child to go on a nature trip, for example in Zimbabwe. The amount is based on the average cost of supporting a young person through our TUI Junior Academies.

The TUI Colourful Cultures programme supports local artists in creating authentic products and tapping into new markets, and promotes local traditions and culture. Your donation will help enable an artist to participate in a workshop, for example in Peru. The amount is based on the average cost for organising a workshop for an artist or artisan through our TUI Colourful Cultures projects.

Destination Zero Waste supports innovative and community-oriented solutions for the collection, processing and recycling of plastic into saleable products and promotes the development of a circular economy. Your donation helps to reduce plastic, for example in Zanzibar. The amount is based on the average costs for reducing 1kg of plastic through our Destination Zero Waste projects.
