A gold standard year for the TUI Care Foundation
The TUI Care Foundation knows that tourism has the power to create meaningful opportunities for people, places and the planet. And this year, its programmes have been recognised by some of the most respected responsible tourism awards worldwide. From regenerative farming and forest restoration to cultural preservation and inclusive innovation, the awards reflect the collective effort of partners, communities and colleagues working together to make tourism a force for good.
In April, the Foundation was recognised at the WTM Africa Responsible Tourism Awards 2026 in Cape Town, with four programmes acknowledged for their impact:
- Silver – Responsible Tourism Award for Cultural Diversity
TUI Colourful Cultures Egypt - Silver – Responsible Tourism Award for Local Economic Benefit
TUI Futureshapers North Africa - One to Watch – Responsible Tourism Award for Nature Positive Tourism
TUI Turtle Aid Cape Verde - One to Watch – Responsible Tourism Award for Regenerative Tourism
TUI Field to Fork Tanzania
From celebrating local heritage through colourful cultures, to creating sustainable livelihoods and protecting marine ecosystems, the Foundation is proud to be recognised for the diversity of its work across Africa.
In early June, the Foundation was honoured to be acknowledged for championing inclusion at the Rainbow Honours 2026 in London, where:
- TUI Futureshapers LGBTQ+ Travel Innovators was nominated for Global LGBTQ+ Initiative of the Year
The nomination reflects the Foundation’s commitment to building a more inclusive tourism sector – one that creates space, opportunity and visibility for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and innovators worldwide.
Later in June, the Foundation was successful at the ICRT Europe Responsible Tourism Awards 2026 in Brussels, bringing home multiple top honours:
- Gold – Responsible Tourism Award for Adapting to Climate Change
TUI Forest Mallorca - Gold – Responsible Tourism Award for Regenerative Tourism
TUI Field to Fork Greece - Silver – Responsible Tourism Award for Championing Cultural Diversity
TUI Colourful Cultures Croatia - Silver – Responsible Tourism Award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
TUI Field to Fork Cyprus
These awards recognise how the TUI Care Foundation’s programmes are addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing destinations today – from climate resilience and regenerative agriculture to inclusive community development and cultural preservation.
The momentum continued in Southeast Asia, where three TUI Care Foundation programmes were honoured at the ICRT Southeast Asia Responsible Tourism Awards in Miri, Malaysia, highlighting the growing impact of the Foundation’s work across the region. From protecting marine ecosystems and celebrating cultural heritage to restoring forest landscapes, the programmes received recognition across three award categories:
- Gold Award – Nature Positive Tourism:TUI Sea the Change Bali
- Silver Award – Championing Cultural Diversity:TUI Colourful Cultures Battambang
- One to Watch – Regenerative Tourism:TUI Forest Borneo
Around the world, the TUI Care Foundation’s programmes are contributing to a shared vision: tourism that supports resilient communities, thriving ecosystems and inclusive opportunities for all. The awards reflect strong partnerships with local organisations and communities and celebrate the real-world impact tourism can deliver when done responsibly. And of course, this work wouldn’t be possible without the passion, expertise and commitment of colleagues across the TUI Group. Whether supporting programmes on the ground, championing fundraising initiatives, or sharing stories of impact – every contribution plays a part.
And as this year’s awards show, that impact is being recognised around the world.
