F\u00fcr den Ausflug an den Strand muss man an einiges denken, Sonnenschirm, Sonnencreme, Badesachen und vielleicht auch eine K\u00fchltasche mit allerlei Lebensmitteln und Getr\u00e4nken. Beim Verlassen des Strandes achtet so mancher nicht darauf, dass kein M\u00fcll hinterlassen wird, vor allem kein Plastik. Jeden Tag gelangen acht Millionen Plastikteile in unsere Ozeane. Durch das verunreinigte Wasser wird die Umwelt verschmutzt, \u00d6kosysteme werden besch\u00e4digt und Meerestiere leiden unter den Folgen.<\/p>\n

Zypern hat nun eine Tourismusstrategie verk\u00fcndet, die aus f\u00fcnf S\u00e4ulen besteht. Einer dieser S\u00e4ulen besagt, dass Zypern ein Reiseziel wird, das die Umwelt schont und die\u00a0Str\u00e4nde und das Meer plastikfrei h\u00e4lt<\/a>. In den letzten drei Jahren haben die TUI Care Foundation, die Travel Foundation und die Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI) mit lokalen Tourismusunternehmen in der Region Paralimni zusammengearbeitet, um Einwegplastik an beliebten Str\u00e4nden zu vermeiden.<\/p>\n

\u00dcber 100 Tourismusunternehmen haben sich verpflichtet, mindestens eine \u00c4nderung vorzunehmen, um Plastik zu reduzieren, wiederzuverwenden oder zu vermeiden. Und die Str\u00e4nde von Agia Triada und Malama sind nun auf dem Weg plastikfrei zu werden – ein gro\u00dfer Erfolg!<\/p>\n

Das Projekt geht nun in die zweite, dreij\u00e4hrige Phase und als Auftakt gab es dazu eine Veranstaltung in Protaras unter anderem mit Helen Caron, Vorstandsmitglied der TUI Care Foundation. Helen Caron: \u201eEine der wichtigsten Meilensteine ist, dass durch die Initiative Plastikm\u00fcll in der Gr\u00f6\u00dfenordnung von dreiundzwanzig 737-Flugzeugen vermieden wurde, was eine enorme Leistung ist, wenn man es in Relation setzt. Das Projekt l\u00e4uft nun weitere drei Jahre und ich freue mich sehr, dass wir diese Initiative, die ein wirklich wichtiges Element der TUI Care Foundation ist, ausweiten k\u00f6nnen\u201c.<\/p>\n

Das n\u00e4chste Ziel des Projekts ist es, die Zahl der beteiligten Unternehmen auf 300 zu erh\u00f6hen und mit der Hotelbranche zusammenzuarbeiten, um so viel Abfall wie m\u00f6glich zu vermeiden.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
