Im Rahmen der Initiative werden bis zu 50.000 B\u00e4ume gepflanzt und gef\u00e4hrdete Tierarten gesch\u00fctzt. Gleichzeitig werden f\u00fcr die lokale Bev\u00f6lkerung neue Arbeitspl\u00e4tze im Bereich Naturschutz und nachhaltiger Tourismus geschaffen.<\/em><em>\u00a0Am Mittwoch wurde die Initiative von Joan Simonet Pons, Minister f\u00fcr Landwirtschaft, Fischerei und Umwelt der Balearen, Sebastian Ebel, CEO der TUI Group und Thomas Ellerbeck, Vorsitzender der TUI Care Foundation, offiziell gestartet.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Die Initiative umfasst nachhaltige Forstwirtschaftsma\u00dfnahmen und die Pflanzung einheimischer, feuertoleranter B\u00e4ume. Das erweiterte Schutzgebiet erstreckt sich bis zur K\u00fcste und sch\u00fctzt wichtige Gebiete wie die Naturreservate Cap Ferrutx und Cap des Freu. In weiteren Gebieten wie Son Real werden sowohl eingez\u00e4unte als auch offene kleine W\u00e4lder die nat\u00fcrliche Wiederaufforstung unterst\u00fctzen und neue nat\u00fcrliche Lebensr\u00e4ume schaffen. Das Projekt verfolgt dabei einen holistischen Ansatz und m\u00f6chte den Naturraum Wald und seine Bedeutung f\u00fcr die lokale Bev\u00f6lkerung ebenso wie f\u00fcr Urlauberinnen und Urlauber erlebbar machen.<\/p>\n<p>Joan Simonet Pons, Minister f\u00fcr Landwirtschaft, Fischerei und Umwelt der Balearen, betont wie wichtig die Zusammenarbeit von \u00f6ffentlicher Verwaltung und Organisationen ist: \u201eUns ist sehr bewusst, welch hohe Bedeutung die Erhaltung und der Schutz der \u00d6kosysteme f\u00fcr die Balearen haben &#8211; sowohl an Land als auch im Meer. Deshalb sind wir der TUI Care Foundation dankbar f\u00fcr ihre Unterst\u00fctzung. Initiativen wie diese verbessern die Widerstandsf\u00e4higkeit der W\u00e4lder angesichts des Klimawandels und gew\u00e4hrleisten gleichzeitig den Schutz unserer Wildtiere.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Ellerbeck, Vorsitzender der TUI Care Foundation, betont: \u201eDer Erhalt der Artenvielfalt ist nicht nur heute wichtig, er hat auch eine immense Bedeutung f\u00fcr die Zukunft. Unser Ziel ist es, f\u00fcnf Millionen B\u00e4ume in unseren W\u00e4ldern auf der ganzen Welt zu pflanzen. Die W\u00e4lder erhalten nicht nur die Artenvielfalt, sondern sie verbessern auch die Lebensgrundlagen der lokalen Bev\u00f6lkerung \u2013 zum Beispiel indem sie Orte f\u00fcr nachhaltige und naturbasierte Tourismuserlebnisse schaffen. Initiativen wie der TUI Forest Mallorca zeigen, dass der Tourismus ein Motor f\u00fcr positive Ver\u00e4nderungen ist. Im nachhaltigem und naturverbundenem Reisen liegt gro\u00dfes Potential \u2013 auch f\u00fcr etablierte und beliebte Reiseziele wie Mallorca.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Der TUI Wald Mallorca baut auf einem Aufforstungsprojekt auf, das 2009 gemeinsam von TUI und der Regierung der Balearischen Inseln ins Leben gerufen wurde um rund 60.000 neue B\u00e4ume im Naturparks Pen\u00ednsula de Llevant zu pflanzen.<\/p>\n<p>Der TUI Wald Mallorca ist Teil des internationalen TUI Forests Programms der TUI Care Foundation. Mit der Pflanzung von B\u00e4umen entstehen weltweit TUI Forests, die neue nat\u00fcrliche Lebensr\u00e4ume schaffen und Urlauberinnen und Urlaubern sowie der lokalen Bev\u00f6lkerung die M\u00f6glichkeit er\u00f6ffnen, den Naturraum Wald neu zu entdecken.
