Die Gesundheit der Meeresumwelt ist sowohl f\u00fcr das nat\u00fcrliche \u00d6kosystem als auch f\u00fcr die Wirtschaft der Insel und den florierenden Tourismussektor von entscheidender Bedeutung. Arubas Riffe sind jedoch stark gesch\u00e4digt. Das bedroht die marine Artenvielfalt und beeintr\u00e4chtigt den mit den Riffen verbundenen Tourismus.<\/em>\u00a0<em>Einheimischen sowie Besucherinnen und Besuchern fehlt es oft an Wissen \u00fcber Korallen, und obwohl sie interessiert sind, gibt es kaum M\u00f6glichkeiten sich weiterzubilden. TUI Sea the Change Aruba konzentriert sich auf den Erhalt dieses gef\u00e4hrdeten \u00d6kosystems, indem es die Korallen sch\u00fctzt und sowohl die Bev\u00f6lkerung Arubas als auch Touristinnen und Touristen \u00fcber den Schutz der Ozeane aufkl\u00e4rt.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Allein in der Karibik erwirtschaftet der Rifftourismus mit mehr als elf Millionen Besucherinnen und Besuchern j\u00e4hrlich \u00fcber 7,9 Milliarden US-Dollar. Korallenriffe sind nicht nur eine wichtige Einnahmequelle f\u00fcr die lokale Bev\u00f6lkerung, sondern auch ein wichtiges \u00d6kosystem f\u00fcr das Leben unter Wasser und sch\u00fctzen die K\u00fcstengebiete vor St\u00fcrmen und Erosion. Doch wie auf der ganzen Welt verschlechtert sich auch der Zustand der Korallenriffe Arubas in alarmierendem Tempo \u2013 sie sind sogar vom Aussterben bedroht. TUI Sea the Change Aruba hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, insgesamt 6.000 m\u00b2 Meereslandschaft rund um die Insel zu sch\u00fctzen und wiederherzustellen. Dabei werden neueste Techniken eingesetzt, um die Korallen zu vermehren und zu fragmentieren. Auf der Insel De Palm wird eine Anlage zur Wiederherstellung von Korallenriffen errichtet, um die Vielfalt der Korallenarten zu erh\u00f6hen und die Wiederherstellungsmethoden zu verbessern.<\/p>\n<p>Diese Anlage wird die erste ihrer Art auf Aruba sein und die Wiederherstellung der Riffe f\u00fcr die \u00f6rtliche Bev\u00f6lkerung, Besch\u00e4ftigte im Gastgewerbe und schlie\u00dflich auch f\u00fcr Touristinnen und Touristen zug\u00e4nglicher machen. T\u00e4gliche F\u00fchrungen durch die Anlage, Bildungsworkshops und Veranstaltungen wie Wissenschaftsn\u00e4chte sensibilisieren 35.000 Urlauberinnen und Urlaubern sowie 10.000 Schulkinder f\u00fcr die Bedeutung der Korallenriffe und f\u00f6rdern ein besseres Verst\u00e4ndnis f\u00fcr den Schutz der Meere. Durch Aktivit\u00e4ten wie die Mithilfe bei der Restaurierung, bei der Fragmente geschnitten und auf Pucks platziert werden, k\u00f6nnen Besucherinnen und Besucher eine aktive Rolle beim Schutz der Meeresumwelt \u00fcbernehmen.<\/p>\n<p>Organisierte Touren bieten den G\u00e4sten au\u00dferdem die M\u00f6glichkeit, die Aufzuchtstation im Wasser zu besuchen, Korallen am Riff auszusetzen und an gef\u00fchrten Schnorchel- und Tauchg\u00e4ngen teilzunehmen, um die Unterwasserwelt zu erkunden. Dar\u00fcber hinaus werden lokale Beh\u00f6rden und Reiseveranstalter durch Informationsveranstaltungen und Workshops eingebunden und geschult.<\/p>\n<p>TUI Sea the Change Aruba folgt dem Vorbild von TUI Sea the Change Bali, einem weiteren Programm, das sich auf die Wiederherstellung von Korallen und die Aufkl\u00e4rung \u00fcber den Meeresschutz konzentriert. In Zusammenarbeit mit der Livingseas Foundation k\u00f6nnen auf Bali rund 3.600 Urlauberinnen und Urlauber den schwimmenden Ponton des Programms besuchen, von dem aus Schnorchel- und Tauchausfl\u00fcge zum Naturschutzriff starten. Auf dem Ponton finden auch Bildungsveranstaltungen und Workshops statt, bei denen die Besucherinnen und Besucher zum Schutz des Riffs beitragen k\u00f6nnen. Sie bauen ihre eigenen Riffsterne \u2013 eine Struktur, die das Wachstum von Korallensegmenten unterst\u00fctzt und f\u00f6rdert. Bis heute wurden fast 2.000 m<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0dieser Strukturen auf dem Meeresboden um Padangbai installiert, was zum Wachstum eines bl\u00fchenden Meeres\u00f6kosystems beigetragen hat.<\/p>\n<p>Um die Finanzierung und den Ausbau des Renaturierungsgebiets weiter voranzutreiben, hat die TUI Care Foundation ein neues Korallen-Adoptionsprogramm ins Leben gerufen. Spenderinnen und Spender aus aller Welt k\u00f6nnen mit nur wenigen Klicks auf der Website der Organisation einen festen Betrag spenden, und in ihrem Namen wird ein personalisierter Riffstern vor Ort installiert. Anschlie\u00dfend wird ein biologisch abbaubarer Bambusanh\u00e4nger mit einem Namen oder einer Botschaft, die die Spenderin oder der Spender ausw\u00e4hlt, am Riff befestigt.<\/p>\n<p>Der \u201eMarine May\u201c der TUI Care Foundation ist ein Monat voller Aktivit\u00e4ten zum Schutz der Meere.
