Ausgel\u00f6st durch den Tropensturm Erin, f\u00fchrten sintflutartige Regenf\u00e4lle dazu, dass innerhalb von nur f\u00fcnf Stunden weit mehr Niederschlag fiel als im Jahresdurchschnitt der Inseln. Stra\u00dfen wurden \u00fcberflutet und H\u00e4user zerst\u00f6rt. Die \u00dcberschwemmungen forderten zahlreiche Menschenleben und mehr als 1.500 Betroffene mussten ihre H\u00e4user verlassen.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Als Reaktion auf diese Umweltkatastrophe spendet die TUI Care Foundation 100.000 Euro. Gemeinsam mit lokalen Partnerorganisationen wird die TUI Care Foundation den Gemeinden langfristige Hilfe leisten, damit sie beim Wiederaufbau unterst\u00fctzt werden und die notwendigen Ressourcen erhalten.<\/p>\n<p>Kap Verde ist f\u00fcr die TUI Care Foundation ein besonderer Ort: Seit vielen Jahren engagiert sich die Stiftung dort mit Projekten, die Bildung f\u00f6rdern, Arbeitspl\u00e4tze schaffen und nachhaltigen Tourismus unterst\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n<p>Alexander Panczuk, Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer der TUI Care Foundation: \u201eDie \u00dcberschwemmungen in S\u00e3o Vicente und Santo Ant\u00e3o haben verheerende Auswirkungen auf die lokale Bev\u00f6lkerung und f\u00fchren zu tragischen Verlusten und weitreichenden Sch\u00e4den. Die TUI Care Foundation steht den Betroffenen solidarisch zur Seite.
